Award-winning novelist, publisher, conscientious objector, propagandist, literary critic, editor and memoirist, David Garnett was a towering figure in the 20th century British literary landscape. A confidante of many writers and artists, including T.E. Lawrence, Lytton Strachey and D.H. Lawrence, he is largely remembered for his prophecy that he would marry his lover Duncan Grant’s daughter when she grew up. Sarah Knights presents a clear sighted view of an often contradictory figure.
BLOOMSBURY’S OUTSIDER was shortlisted for the Slightly Foxed Best First Biography Award.
Sarah is contracted to Virago/Little Brown to write A New Way of Looking about Barbara Ker Seymour and her group of friends.
