David JenkinsDavid Jenkins has had a long and distinguished career in journalism and television.
He has written major features for all the best magazines in Britain, including Vogue, the Sunday Times Magazine, the Guardian Weekend magazine, GQ, Tatler, Vanity Fair, the Independent magazine, Conde Nast Traveller and more. He loves rock music and has profiled Mick Jagger for Vogue and Paul McCartney, Amy Winehouse and Lemmy for the Sunday Telegraph Magazine in its various guises.
He has also been Deputy Editor of the Independent on Sunday Review, ES magazine, The Independent magazine and GQ, and Executive Editor at Large of the Sunday Times Magazine. He ran the arts pages for the online magazine, The First Post, and currently works two days a week as Senior Editor for Tatler. He wrote for magazines such as Time Out and the TLS during the 11 years he worked at Granada TV, as both a producer (The Krypton Factor, One Man Band) and researcher (So It Goes, Disappearing World, Hypotheticals et al).
Before that he worked as an editor at New English Library and as a researcher on an unfinished film about the Kennedy and King assassinations - the topic of his first cover story for Time Out. Immediately after leaving university he worked as a producer for the BBC World Service, a plum job he left to go first on the hippy trail and then to work as film editor for IT, the underground newspaper. He wrote for Cherwell and read Greats at Oxford.
