David Gann CBE

Professor David Gann is a university and business leader with extensive international experience in innovation strategy and technology management. He is Vice-President (Innovation) and Professor of Innovation and Technology Management at Imperial College London. He has written or edited six books exploring why and how innovation happens, the ways it continually transforms the world we live in, and how it can be managed.

David co-wrote 'The Playful Entrepreneur' with Mark Dodgson. The book explores the future of work, especially how new technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, will change it. Work, the book argues, can become much more playful. .

David writes a blog for the World Economic Forum, is Chairman of the Smart London Board for the Mayor of London and a Non-Executive Board Member of Directa Plus, the world’s largest producer of pristine graphene. David is a passionate supporter of music and the arts, a member of the London Symphony Orchestra’s Advisory Council and Trustee of Brighton Dome and Festival. He is a keen bee-keeper and gardener, enjoys cycling in Sussex and walking in the Swiss Alps.
