Margaret Hanbury founded her literary agency in 1983 at the suggestion of J.G. Ballard, who she continued to represent worldwide until 2009. The agency represents its clients worldwide and works hard to arrange overseas publication of authors' work. We are members of The Association of Authors' Agents and have a reputation for reliability and success.
The client base ranges from novelists to historians, including popular culture and current affairs. We were at the forefront of the 'celebrity memoir' phenomenon with Katie Price's first autobiography. The agency represents several professional ghostwriters and is experienced in forming successful partnerships.
Harriet Poland graduated with a First Class degree in History from Manchester University in 2012. She joined the Agency in October 2012 as part of their intern scheme and has been employed since January 2013 as Maggie Hanbury's Assistant as well as considering the new submissions.
